| Maybe the Red Sox should try their hands at poker, because 2's were wild today. Mike Lowell and Manny Ramirez each have 2-run homeruns, Sean Casey and Jacoby Ellsbury each have 2-run doubles, and a solo homerun for David Ortiz adds to the mix. Tim Wakefield goes 8 solid innings for the win, his first win in 3 1/2 weeks.. Even though the Mariners lost and are 12 games below .500, they sit closer to first in their division than the 6 games over .500 Sox do. That's what happens when the AL West leader, the Texas Rangers, has a record of 26-29, 3 games below.500!! Seattle sits 4 1/2 behind them, while the Sox are 6 1/2 behind the Toronto Blue Jays who have the best record in the American League at a sizzling 37-18. |
