| Josh Beckett gets back on the winning track getting some run support at last after he only had one win in the last two months despite quite a few solid starts. Jacoby Ellsbury, JD Drew, Jason Varitek and Julio Lugo hit homers in the rout. For Lugo, his second homerun in three games after having a homerless season up to the beginning of this series. Speaking of getting back on the winning track, ob boy is Tim Redding of the Nationals some happy right now. Redding allowed only one run in 8 2/3 innings today for a victory against the Mariners, his first win in over a month after the most up and down season so far. In Redding's first 8 starts of the season he was 3-2 with an ERA of 2.91. Since then, in the 6 starts up to this one he went 0-3 with a sky-high 10.42 ERA along with giving up 13 homeruns in those 6 starts to put his overall ERA for the season up by almost three runs. With the win today, overall Redding on the season is 4-5 and a 5.18 ERA. |
