| The Red Sox avenge last game's agonizing loss with the bat of JD Drew doing the talking. Drew breaks a 1-1 tie in the 7th when he smashes one out of the park for the grand slam homerun, and Kevin Youkilis adds in his 5th homerun of the season in the 9th for good measure. Josh Beckett is spectacular on the mound, only allowing two hits (one unfourtunately being a homerun for Jason Giambi which made the game the 1-1 tie) before beginning to tire in the 8th inning. Mike Timlin finishes up the game uneventfully, and the Sox sit 1/2 a game behind the Blue Jays for first in the division. |
