In the first inning, Wake does something that has only been acomplished 38 times in history when he strikes out the side (Ian Kinsler, Michael Young and Josh Hamilton) on nine pitches. Wake does one better when he strikes out Milton Bradley on three pitches to lead off the second for the first four batters of the game struck out on 12 pitches. Then, Wakefield whiffs Hank Blalock (not on three pitches) for the first 5 Ranger hitters of the game retired via strikeout. After that, Wake collapses when Texas gets 4 runs in the 3rd and 2 more in the 4th to bust in front 6-1, and the Sox never get back in it.
