April 24, 2008 Red Sox 2, Angels 1

Julio Lugo puts his average back over the .400 mark and caps a 2 for 3 day with a big RBI double in the bottom of the 8th inning to break a 1-all tie as the Sox win again and sweep the three game series. Justin Masterson gets the no-decision in his major league debut, lasting into the 6th inning allowing one run, 4 hits, 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Angels did outhit the Sox 8-7, and 12 walks combined from both sides. Overall, despite 27 baserunners only three runs score in the game!

Even with the Red Sox current won-loss record of 15-9, it is only good enough for third place in the division. The Orioles sit just above the Sox at 14-8 with the Blue Jays leading the division with a record of 16-7. On the other side of the coin, Texas and Oakland are tied for the AL West lead, both with under .500 records (11-12).
