March 26, 2008 Red Sox 5, Athletics 3

Julio Lugo makes amends for two errors in the field by knocking in three runs with the bat, and Jason Varitek breaks a 3-all tie in the 8th inning with a solo homerun as the Sox go to 2-0. With no help from the top three in the order (1 for 14), the bottom three including Varitek and Lugo makes up for that by driving in 4 of the runs and going 6 for 10. David Aardsma gets his first relief win in a Sox uniform, and Paps get the save for the second straight day.
