| The Indians offense showed no signs of letting up against some shoddy Tiger pitching with the huge win. A 5 run 1st inning set the tone, but that wasn't all. Seven more runs cross the plate in the 2nd along with 6 more for the 3rd inning. After 3 innings, Cleveland led 18-0!! Tigers pitchers Casey Fossum sucks worst of all, allowing 10 runs in one inning of work. Shin-So Choo knocks in 6 runs with a 4 for 5 day but he was outshined by Kelly Shoppach. Shoppach gets two homeruns, a grand slam and a 3-run shot, and knocks in 7! Victor Martinez goes 0 for 3 but still scores 3 runs!! 13 walks for the Tiger pitching staff sure didn't help matters any. |

Kelly Shoppach rocketed 2 homeruns and Cliff Lee pitched a complete game as
the Cleveland Indians clobbered the outmatched Detroit Tigers, 22 to
2.
Shoppach was unconscious all evening. The Detroit fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He lofted
a three-run bomb in the 2nd inning and launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 6th
of the season) in the 3rd inning. Cleveland bats were very productive in the
2nd inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 6 hits and the 3rd inning with 6
runs on 5 hits. Cleveland finished with 17 hits in the victory.
The win was credited to Lee(7-2) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
Dontrelle Willis(2-3) was tagged with the loss.
