| A bit of a different looking lineup today works in many various ways. Leading off for the second straight game, Coco Crisp goes an official 1 for 2 at the plate and scores twice. In addition to the one hit (a solo homerun), Crisp also walks twice, steals two bases and gets a sacrifice bunt. The man batting after him, Julio Lugo, almost mirrors Crisp with the variety at the plate. Lugo only gets one official atbat but scores twice as for the game he walked twice, was hit by a pitch, steals a base and also had a sacrifice bunt. Combined, the two only go an official 1 for 3 but also get four walks, two sac bunts, a hit by pitch, three steals and four runs scored!! A four run Sox 8th inning does away with the planned Papelbon save chance, so Mike Timlin comes in instead for the 9th and does allow a couple of runs although they weren't his fault. Lugo continues his sloppy fielding throwing what should have been the third out over first base with a runner on first, and both runners score on a double from the next batter for two unearned runs. |

Manny Ramirez had 3 base hits and 4 RBI at Fenway Park where the Boston Red
Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 8 to 4.
Seattle never recovered after Boston took the lead in the 7th inning with 2
runs utilizing 2 base hits. Alex Cora got things going when he drew a walk.
Coco Crisp stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, J.D. Drew stepped in and he drew a walk. Mark Lowe then
let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch. Ramirez stepped into the box
and stroked a single. Sean Casey kept the inning going and laced a base-hit.
Kevin Youkilis stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk to load the
bases. Brandon Moss got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.
Seattle was out-hit by Boston, 10 hits to 7.
Manny Delcarmen(3-2) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. R.A.
Dickey(0-1) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 1 hit in 2
