June 10, 2008 Phillies 9, Marlins 6

The Phillies make the people in the bleacher seats happy by ripping out four homers, one apiece for Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, Chase Utley and Pat Burrell. The homers for Victorino (2 run shot) and Utley (solo) were back-to-back blows in the 9th, and ended up very important in the eventual outcome. J. C. Romero allows a couple of runs to narrow the lead to three with two outs in the bottom of the 9th, so with the tying run on deck Brad Lidge takes the mound and records the most el cheapo of saves by striking out Jeremy Hermeida and throwing only 6 pitches.

Side notes: the homer for Chase Utley ties him for the NL lead with teammate Ryan Howard, and Victorino's homerun puts him only one shy of his real-life total for the entire season. At his current pace, Victorino will have 36 homeruns which ain't bad for a guy who only hit 13 in the actual season! The Phillies on the season as a team have 103 homeruns, two shy of the Chicago White Sox's major league leading total of 105. The White Sox and Phils are the only two teams with over 100 homeruns so far, and only three other teams have more than 80!!
