| The Sox set a season high in hits with 20, tie their season high in runs with 16 and pound 6 Oriole pitchers to the tune of almost 30 baserunners with 8 walks and an error thrown in. Big days for Dustin Pedroia with 2 homeruns, Manny Ramirez who gets 2 doubles and a homer, and Jeff Bailey (just called up from the PawSox) as he goes 3 for 4 including a 2-run first inning single. A 5 run first with Bailey's single and Pedroia's 2-run homer set the tone early. Wasn't sure if Bartolo Colon could hang on for the 5 innings to get the win and had the game been closer he would have been yanked after the 4th, but with a 12-5 lead entering the 5th he stays in and does get the win despite allowing 7 runs and 8 hits. |
