August 1, 2008 Phillies 5, Cardinals 0

The Phillie offense gets its spark back, rapping out 13 hits with 6 of them doubles and despite leaving 11 baserunners stranded have no problem with the Cards. Cole Hamels gets his first shutout of the year, going the distance on the five-hitter and hits one of those doubles to continue his .300 hitting.

I forgot to mention in the Sox blog an interesting stat regarding Tim Wakefield. That game isn't his only ass-kicking of the year, back on April 4th in his first start of the season he allowed 8 runs in 3 innings in an 11-8 loss to Toronto. But, besides those two games he has been solid. Take out those two starts, and his ERA drops almost a run from 5.01 down to 4.07.
