| A scoreless duel through the first 5 innings between Jorge Campillo and Joe Blanton is broken when Blanton walks the first two hitters in the 6th and Brian McCann strikes with a 3-run shot over the fence. McCann adds another RBI later on a double, and Blanton suffers his first loss as a Phillie. Campillo goes the distance for the four-hitter at less than 100 pitches, and the Braves take two of three. With an off-day next on the schedule, the Phillies will get a chance to gain some momentum after that with the next eight series against current .500 or worse teams with three game series against the Nationals (32-73), Cardinals (51-56), Marlins (45-60) and Pirates (42-63), a four gamer against the Dodgers (51-53) who by then will have Manny on their team, three gamers against the Padres (53-53) and Nationals again and another four gamer against L.A which will take it to the end of August. |

WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Jimmy Rollins robbed Mark Teixeira of a base hit.
Jorge Campillo pitched 9 strong innings at Citizen's Bank Park where the
Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5 to 0.
Brian McCann was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He stroked a base-hit in the
2nd inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 6th inning and doubled scoring a
run in the 7th inning. Atlanta managed 11 hits in their victory.
Campillo(7-5) was credited with the shutout. Joe Blanton(8-8) suffered the
loss. 'He came out with good stuff,' Bobby Cox said about Campillo. 'He
threw the ball good from the first pitch on.'
