| A back and forth game with 13 Sox left on base eventually goes their way when they get two runs in the top of the 9th via two singles, a Manny RBI double and a Sean Casey sac fly. Jonathan Papelbon takes the hill for the bottom of the 9th and retires all three Phils he faces for his 11th save. Seems like a low save total for Paps, only about 1/4 of the Sox victories on the season, but a lot of game haven't even had a save opportunity for him to get a save! Two players extended rather decent hitting streaks today. Ryan Howard extends his hitting streak to 19 games, the longest hitting streak in the National League so far on the season. Dustin Pedroia also extends a hit streak to 14 games, longest for the Red Sox this year. The Sox 9th inning: *** TOP OF INNING 9 *** 0 D.Pedroia 1- 7 1 Single b-1 SUBSTITUTE P - J.C.
