| A tale of two starters - Cardinals rookie Mitchell Boggs vs. the Sox Daisuke Matsuzaka. Dice-K shows quite a bit of rust in his first game back, walking four in the first two innings along with allowing five runs. He would settle down and retire the last 10 men to face him, but meanwhile Boggs is rolling right along not allowing a run until a JD Drew homer in the 8th. Then, all hell breaks loose in the bottom of the 9th as Boggs gets taken out after over 130 pitches and Ryan Franklin takes his place on the mound. All told, the Cards go through four pitchers for the 9th and the Sox score three runs with hits, walks, errors, steals, all kinds of things but just can't poke that tying run across. His teammates almost blow it for him, but in the end Mitchell Boggs gets his first major league victory.
