Ryan Howard blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies
defeated the Los Angeles(AL) Angels 5 to 4 at Citizen's Bank Park.
Clay Condrey(2-2) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory. He
went 1 and 2/3 innings surrendering 2 hits and no walks. Los Angeles(AL)
threatened in the 9th but Philadelphia was able to put down the rally.
Brad Lidge gained credit for his 14th save. Jose Arredondo(2-1) was charged
with the loss in relief. 'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it'
said Mike Scioscia 'But we have to get over it and get ready for the next
game.'
