| In what is probably the best individual non no-hitter performance of the year so far, Zach Greinke holds Colorado to only one hit through 8 innings while whiffing 10 Rockies in a battle of two shitty teams. Personally, I would have just left him in the game to go for the one-hit shutout since he was only at 84 pitches through 8. Kansas City is glad that they have Greinke and his 2.74 ERA, as only one other Royals starter has an ERA below 5.00 and two are over 6.00!! |

Stadium as the Kansas City Royals beat the Colorado Rockies 4 to

Greinke(5-7) escaped virtually unscathed against the Colorado hitters. He
didn't allow much, just 1 hit and 1 walk in 8 innings improving his ERA from
2.97 to 2.74. Kansas City totaled 7 hits on the night.
Jorge De La Rosa(3-2) was the loser. Trey Hillman was asked about the
performance of Greinke, 'He had his good stuff out there tonight. The fans
really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to
give him even more adrenalin.'
