Had no reason to think that Jonathan Papelbon would be needed today with a 4-run lead, but when walk machine Craig Hansen walks two batters to lead off the 9th the call goes out, and Paps converts the save easily. |

At Citizen's Bank Park the Boston Red Sox easily handled the Philadelphia
Phillies by the score of 5 to 1.
Boston had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 2nd inning when they had 3
base hits. That was all the runs Justin Masterson(3-1) needed. Boston had 8
hits for the game and Philadelphia had 2.
Jonathan Papelbon earned the save, his 12th. Kyle Kendrick(2-7) was the

walk.
