June 18, 2008 Red Sox 5, Phillies 1

The Sox take the rubber game of the annual Sox-Phillies series with two big homeruns, a 3-run shot for Jason Varitek and a 2-run homer for Dustin Pedroia. The one Phillie run was also on a homer, a solo shot for Chase Utley. That would be the only hit that Justin Masterson would allow until he starts to finally run out of gas in the 8th inning. Had no reason to think that Jonathan Papelbon would be needed today with a 4-run lead, but when walk machine Craig Hansen walks two batters to lead off the 9th the call goes out, and Paps converts the save easily.
