| An all too familiar beginning when the St. Louis strikes in the first two innings for a 3-0 lead, but that lead is quickly erased by a crazy 5 run Phillie 2nd inning that spells an early exit for Cards starter Braden Looper (2 walks, RBI single, HBP, successful squeeze for a run, 2-run double and another RBI single) for a 5-3 lead. The teams battle back and forth from there with the Cardinals getting a tying run in the top of the 7th on their 5th homerun of the game and it goes to extra innings again for the fourth extra inning game in a week. Pat Burrell makes sure it doesn't go to far into extra time when he sends the fans home happy with a walk-off homerun to lead off the bottom of the10th and gives the Phillies their 5th straight win for the longest winning streak of the season despite being outhit by the Cards 11-8. It also puts them over the .500 mark for the first time since April 24th when they were 12-11.
