July 12, 2008 Red Sox 6, Orioles 1




Manny Ramirez leads the offense with a nice 4 for 4 day including a double and a homerun and Sean Casey helps out with a bases clearing double good for 3 RBIs aas the So lead throughout. Tim Wakefield holds Baltimore to only two hits through 8 for his 9th win. Quick game, only 2:17 for a time.

Left fielder Manny Ramirez had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Tim Wakefield pitched 8
strong innings as the Boston Red Sox topped the Baltimore Orioles by a score
of 6 to 1 at Fenway Park.

Boston started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. That was all the offense they were
to need. Baltimore was out-hit by Boston, 8 hits to 2.

The win went to Wakefield(9-5) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Radhames
Liz(1-6) was given the loss. He allowed Boston 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings
of work.

The Boston ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 60-36. With the
loss Baltimore now has a record of 41-52, worst in the division.
