| The Sox bats are held silent again as a scoreless battle between lefties Jon Lester and Jarrod Washburn changed for the worse when M's catcher Jeff Clement gets the only runs of the game on a 2-run homerun in the 5th. J. J .Putz gets the save for the Mariners when he comes into the game with two outs in the 7th inning and goes the rest of the way. For Seattle, seven different pitchers have saves (Brandon Morrow has the most with 7) in their apparent stopper by committee. For the Sox, they lose their fourth straight and have only scored one run over their last three games on a so far very quiet west coast swing. |
