July 11, 2008 Diamondbacks 5, Phillies 2

Two hot teams do battle, but the hotter team wins as Arizona extends their winning streak to 11 games. The Phillies do score first with two runs in their half od the 1st inning, but the D'Backs get all their runs in the 3rd with a Chris Young 3-run homerun being the back breaking blow. Neithe rteam would score again after that. Only two Phillie hits for the day, a Ryan Howard RBI single in the first inning and a pinch-hit single for Mike Cervenak in the 7th. For Cervenak, this was his first major-league game and he will join the list of many players to get a hit in their first big league atbat.

inning and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 5 to 2 at
Citizen's Bank Park.

Doug Davis(3-6) earned his pay with a solid performance for Arizona. He went
7 innings surrendering 2 hits and 4 walks. After the 3rd inning, neither
team was able to score.

Davis got help from Chad Qualls who earned his 9th save. Kyle Kendrick(3-9)
