| No dramatics needed today for the Phillies after three straight thrillers as they lead throughout thanks to Greg Dobbs. Dobbs smokes the ball with a 3 for 4 day knocking in 5 runs and falling a triple short of the cycle including a 3-run homerun and a 2-run double. Chase Utley also knocks one over the fence for his major league leading 29th homer of the year, and Pat Burrell rips his 21st over the wall. Meanwhile, Adam Eaton continues to surprise recording his 9th win going six solid innings, oddly enough with no walks or strikeouts. Ryan Madson goes the final three to give the bullpen a bit of a break and gets the three inning save for his second save on the year. |

WEB GEMS- Top 5th: Adam Eaton robbed Endy Chavez of a base hit.
Greg Dobbs hit a homerun and had 5 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated
the New York (NL) Mets by the score of 8 to 3 at Citizen's Bank Park.
Dobbs helped send the fans home happy. He laced a one-base hit in the 2nd
inning, lofted a three-run bomb (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning and
doubled which was good for two runs in the 7th inning. Philadelphia had 13
hits for the game and New York (NL) had 6.
Adam Eaton(9-5) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Eaton got
relief help from Ryan Madson who gained credit for his 2nd save. Pedro
Martinez(3-3) took the loss. His ERA increased from 4.66 to 5.50 as he
allowed 8 runs in 6 innings.
