July 11, 2008 Red Sox 10, Orioles 4

The Sox come out swinging with a 7-0 lead after 2 innings, and 3 hit days for Jacoby Ellsbury (triple and 2 singles), Manny (2 doubles and a single) and Dustin Pedroia (3 singles) along with a triple and homerun for Brandon Moss lead a 14 hit attack. Kevin Youkilis knocks in 3 runs for the day, and Clay Buchholz (just called up rom the PawSox) gets his best start of the year for the win.

Added note: a loss today for Toronto gives the Red Sox the solo lead in the AL East for the first ttime this season and the second best record in the American League behind the Chicago White Sox record of 60-33. Good year to be a fan of a Chicago team as besides the White Sox ripping along the Chicago Cubs have the major's best record at 64-29 and a commanding 19 1/2 game lead in the NL Central over the second place, sub .500 Cardinals and Reds.

The Boston Red Sox cruised to a 10 to 4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at
Fenway Park.

Baltimore fell behind quickly as the Boston offense came through in the first
inning as they scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided
by Kevin Youkilis who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he
delivered a base-hit which was good for two runs. Boston finished with 14
hits while Baltimore ended up with 10.

Clay Buchholz(4-3) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Brian
Burres(5-8) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 6 hits and no walks in 1
