July 1, 2008 Phillies 3, Braves 1

It wasn't easy, but the Phillies get the victory over the division-leading Braves. Plenty of scoring chances for Atlanta, but they leave 12 men on base and ground into two inning-ending doubleplays. Kyle Kendrick gets the win allowing no runs in 6 with a big part of that being the Braves lack of punching runners home, and Brad Lidge gets a very sloppy save even with walking 3 batters. Lidge also got an unexpected plate appearance in the 9th inning (he did not have any during the real season), and he walked! Maybe not a well-deserved Phillie win, but I'll take it!

Kyle Kendrick(3-8) and Charlie Morton(1-3) treated the Atlanta fans to a fine
pitching duel at Turner Field. The Philadelphia Phillies eventually emerged
as victors over the Atlanta Braves by the score of 3 to 1.

Kendrick pitched well for Philadelphia in their victory. He surrendered 4
hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Philadelphia and Atlanta each finished the
night with 7 hits.

Kendrick got relief help from Brad Lidge who gained credit for his 15th save.
