July 12, 2008 Diamondbacks 5, Phillies 4

Both relief corps hold up well as all the runs were scored off of the two starters, Adam Eaton and Randy Johnson. Arizona strikes first, but the Phillies get 4 in the 4th when Shane Victorino rips one out of the park and Pedro Feliz bangs a 3-run shot later in the inmning for a 4-3 lead. The lead doesn't hold, as the Diamondbacks get two in the 6th via a single off Clay Condrey which allows two inherited runners to score to take their lead back. The Phillies put up a fight, loading the bases in the bottom of the 8th with one out but fail to score, and get a single in the 9th but not enough as Brandon Lyon gets the save.

Arizona wins their 12th straight, but in the last 30 games have played .500 ball. A 3-15 slump preceded this 12 game streak for an even 15-15 record over 30 games, but the D'Backs have taken first place in the NL West away from the Giants.

Conor Jackson had 2 base hits as the blistering-hot Arizona Diamondbacks beat
the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 5 to 4.

In the 6th inning Arizona scored 2 runs with the help of 5 hits. Mark
Reynolds led off and started the attack as he laced a base-hit. Chris Young
stepped up next and he delivered a one-base hit. After an out was recorded,
Robby Hammock stepped up to the plate and he banged out a single to load the
bases. Justin Upton was up next and he slapped a base-hit. Stephen Drew
came to the plate and delivered a one-base hit to load the bases. Jackson
kept things alive and grounded into a double play. Philadelphia threatened
in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Randy Johnson(9-6) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. Johnson got
help from Brandon Lyon who was credited with his 14th save. Adam Eaton(9-6)
ended up with the loss.

For Arizona, it was just another victory in their mounting winning streak.
